MONDAY NIGHT FORECAST

Lots of chatter today about some snow for the middle of the week but let’s quickly start with the forecast for tonight & Tuesday. Clear & cold weather expected overnight as temperatures fall into the teens and lower 20s by morning. Tuesday looks sunny…maybe some cirrus clouds by late in the day. The clouds will increase Tuesday night and the snow will spread up the mid-Atlantic coast early Wednesday morning. The Baltimore/Washington D.C. area may get another foot of snow out of this storm!!

At this point it looks like the snow will start Wednesday morning around 9-11AM but the temperatures will be right around freezing so as the storm tracks closer to us we very well may see rain mix in, especially along the coast. There is a chance that the rain mix could work as far inland as the Providence area by mid-afternoon and then change back to all snow Wednesday night. With this in mind it is difficult to put an exact amount of snow in the forecast but the POTENTIAL for 6-12” exists especially across the interior Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Coastal areas may see lower totals due to some rain possibly mixing in but certainly 6” or more is possible in these areas as well.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny…brisk at times. HIGHS: 34-39°
WEDNESDAY: Snow starts in the morning, may mix with rain at the coast afternoon. HIGHS: 32-35°
THURSDAY: Morning snow showers possible. HIGHS: 33-37°
